New Year, New Business Goals
Hello everyone! Happy New Year! It’s been a while since we last posted however one of our goals this year is to post more blogs. We can have so much fun here and share so much information - especially for beauty professionals!
Somehow it’s still January and we’re all finding our groove after the holiday season. During this time many beauty professionals take the opportunity to refresh and set new goals. No matter what you specialize in - hair, brows, lashes, nails, etc. - beauty professionals are always looking for new ways to take their business to the next level. So what are some things you can do this new year?
Set 1-3 key goals: It’s so easy to create a list of all the things you’d like to accomplish. However, stepping back and looking at things one at a time can help you focus and successfully complete those goals. One way to break it down is by seasons. Every season has new trends and new opportunities for movement. Setting one key goal for the season is an easy way to make sure it gets done.
A seasonal example: Looking to improve your skills in something specific - Take the opportunity to become an expert at blonde hair over the summer or details in nails during festival season.
Some other ideas for goals could be:
- Building a stronger clientele
- Improving social media presence
- Collaborating/networking with other beauty professionals
- Taking the opportunity to look for a new location even if there is still a chance you’ll stay where you are
No matter the goal, growth is growth!
Aside from the typical new year goal setting, refreshing your space and social media presence can be good as well! Maybe you’ve been wanting to update your logo, create a QR code or start posting more overall. Social media can be a lot of work but pays off in the end. Setting designated days for social media is a good start. Even a few hours, one day a week helps. Feel free to seek inspiration on all platforms, including ones you don’t plan on personally using - Pinterest, Lemon 8, Canva, etc. There is so much content available and it’s very inspiring to see how creative people get!
Lastly, refresh your professional beauty space. Cleaning isn’t always fun but it feels good. Especially in the new year! It’s easy to keep products/tools that you “might use one day” or “want to reuse the container” however doing a deep clean, replacing items, and even adding some decor to your salon or suite is nice! It help make the overall environment feel more comfortable and clients will feel more welcome.
Overall, the opportunity for growth is always there. Never be afraid to ask for support. Reach out to other beauty professionals or seek inspiration on their social media. Having your own business is a journey and wearing multiple hats can be overwhelming at times. But always make sure to look back at all that you have accomplished as well! You can always find inspiration in yourself.
